HEC Chinese Government Scholarship for Pakistani Students
Every year the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan advertises Chinese Government Scholarship seats for Pakistani students. HEC shortlists and nominates candidates to the China Scholarship Council (CSC). This page explains how the HEC route works, what our data says about the scholarship, and where to check the official dates.
- Bilateral seats nominated by HEC Pakistan
- Full tuition fee waiver
- Free on-campus accommodation
- Monthly stipend (RMB 2,500 – 3,500)
- Comprehensive medical insurance
- Masters and PhD are the main HEC streams
- Official call published on hec.gov.pk
HEC route vs direct university route
There are two common ways for Pakistani students to get the Chinese Government Scholarship. In the HEC route (often called the bilateral route), you apply to HEC Pakistan first; HEC screens applicants and sends its nominations to CSC. In the university route, you apply directly to a Chinese university that has CSC seats, and the university nominates you.
You can usually prepare both at the same time, but each has its own form and deadline. Always follow the official instructions in the HEC advertisement and on the university's admissions page.
How to apply through HEC
- Watch the scholarships section of hec.gov.pk for the Chinese Government Scholarship call.
- Prepare attested degrees, transcripts, passport and a study plan or research proposal.
- Complete HEC's online application within the dates in the advertisement.
- If shortlisted, complete the CSC online application on campuschina.org using the agency number HEC gives you.
- Wait for HEC and CSC results, then the admission notice and JW201 visa form from the university.
Not sure about this year's dates?
We never guess deadlines. The only correct dates are the ones in the current HEC advertisement (hec.gov.pk) and on the CSC portal (campuschina.org). Message us and we will help you read the official call.
